Happy with my purchase
After deciding to stop using gas for cooking due to environmental reasons and because gas hobs create harmful nitrogen dioxide, I decided to purchase one of these units.I must admit I had a bit of buyer's regret upon opening it due to the size of the compartments and the space it occupies on the worktop but I decided to go ahead. I cooked broccoli and carrots in the front compartment as a test run. To my delight the unit functioned like a dream. It is very easy to follow the instructions in the manual to get the right setting, and you can adjust the set times e.g the default setting for root vegetables is 28 minutes but you can increase this time. I used the default 28 minutes and they were fine, but everyone is different and you may have to experiment somewhat.The only bugbear I have is cleaning the compartments, accessories and drip tray after use as they aren't small. However, since I'm no longer using saucepans and my old gas steamer there's probably the same amount of cleaning up to do overall.I'm happy I bought this item, and only wish I had bought the stainless steel version.

The best steamer I used
This is one of the best streamers I’ve ever bought to date. It’s a bit bulky, and not that easy to clean in a small sink, but I knew that I’m buying horizontal steamer. Split sections work as described.I’m happy with my purchase

So easy to use
Bought as replacement for the larger model as the elements had gone after many years of constant use. Love the fact that you can put all the veg in at the same time but set different cooking times, then everything is finished at the same time.

Cooks rice beautifully
Positives - easy to use, instruction book and cooking times very helpful, all digital, can tell the difference from eating boiled vegetables and rice, very easy to clean.Negatives - refilling port could be better positioned, alerts when set cooking time is finished but if you don’t hear it, it seems to repeat the cycle. Ended up cooking rice for 66 minutes, instead of 46! Mind you, the rice was still absolutely perfect.Need to experiment with cooking times; veg was as raw as when I put it in after the recommended 15 minutes. 30 was about right.

I love this steamer - the different compartments makes such a difference to your cooking. The different timers is the best idea ever. I would say get this you will not be disappointed at all.
