works well
look, for the price, this does a great job. it is an older style device with no fancy screen in color, but i have had this same device for 10 years and it still works great. if i have one negative to this product it is the limited availability of pads. this pad is NOT universal to the other manufacturers pads. this had a much smaller snap tab which also makes the cord specific to this device and not interchangeable for other devices. the device also uses AA batteries and it not rechargeable with a type c cable so you could say this is a negative as well. i still have one of two of my older omron devices and lost one to leaking batteries after 10 years use so i just bought a replacement which is the same as the one from 10 years ago. i have also found it to be the easiest to use. all the manufacturers use a silicone type sticky backing for the pads. the pads are a good size but dont have other options for shape and size like other manufacturers. i have noticed that the pads loosen and can drop off when swetting so apply to clean dry skin. im not sure if the other styles hold any better under the same conditions. one warning.... do not lose or throw away the plastic figure 8 piece which is the holder for the pads between use. you cant just stick them face to face between use. all said, i would still recommend this device and gives comfort when muscles are sore and nerves need mild stimulation.

Small but powerful unit; successful pain relief; some digital drawbacks.
This is my second Omrom TENS unit. My first, a less-powerful blue one, lasted for about four years which I can't really complain about. I dropped it several times over the course of those years and the last time finally did it in.I opted to get this more powerful unit because it offers the equivalent level of intensity, plus several higher ones. It also lets you know what level of intensity you're in. My previous one had up and down arrows to control intensity but you have no feedback as to the level you're in. To me, it feels like level 6 or level 7 is the equivalent of the highest that I could go with my previous unit.I am using it at that level because I have an implanted pacemaker and that level of intensity did not affect the pacemaker. I have twice yearly pacemaker "interrogations." I went through the interrogation first without the unit turned oN and then the test was repeated with the unit at the highest level that my old blue Omrom Tens unit could achieve. The pacemaker did not detect any electrical interference so I got the go ahead to use it (below the waist, which is where I had it placed for my sciatica pain--I was advised not to place it closer to the pacemaker so I don't use it for neck, shoulder, or arm pain). Next time, I will take this unit and see how high I can go but, 6 or 7 gives me an adequate level of relief for my sciatica. (Although I would welcome a bit of more power, no doubt, I don't dare boost it higher until I know.)I do like this unit overall. My primary consideration is the digital feedback. How intense is the treatment? How many more minutes are left in this session? Those are questions I couldn't answer before. However, there is one part of the digital setup that is unsatisfactory. Across the top you see various categories The top three "buttons" across the top are "rub," "knead," and "rub." These are choices that determine the TYPE of treatment you will be getting. All the other buttons relate to placement (arm, lower back, shoulder, etc.). In my mind those are clearly two different categories. You should be able to choose "rub" my "shoulder." But no, you are only entitled to choose one button. So, if you choose a location button, you can't specify which type of treatment that place will receive. Conversely, if you choose "knead" you can't further specify that it will be applied to your lower back. The unit comes with a drawstring black bag that you can hang from your wrist as a bracelet and it comes with a belt clip that allows you to attach it to your belt or pant's waist. After my experiences dropping my old TENS unit so many times, I have fashioned a sort of ribbon-based neck band to hang the bag around my neck and I hang the bag to that. This is of sufficient length that I can go to my thigh and maybe somewhat lower. I don't trust the belt system and I seldom wear belts; and the bracelet option limits what your activities can be during your treatment. Yet, it's clear that you can't let the unit drop to the floor and this digital one is probably much more sensitive to impact than my old one was. If you want a less-primitive approach, you could use one of those discreet travel thingies that are used to hang around your neck to keep your passport or cash when you travel. The unit should fit there perfectly well.On the whole, I am happy with it. At the level I use it, relief is prompt but not long-lasting. Still, when you're in serious pain, any relief for any length of time is welcome. It also allows you to somewhat reduce the oral pain medicine you need to take which is a big plus.

Works as intended!
Actually bought this for spouse’s arthritic hands, but a few days after purchase I injured my back and this has been a life saver. I had no idea that it would shorten my healing recovery time, and make it possible for me to return to normal life activity as quickly as it did. Very easy to operate, which is a great plus. The pads do lose their initial sticky quality faster than it claims. But, applying a light moisture lotion to your skin allowing it to absorb before applying the pads helps them stick better then if the skin is dry. Very satisfied with this purchase.

The best for a while
I had the old version of the Omron and it finally gave out. I tried another brand with all the bells and whistles. It was not as good.It never worked right. I went back to Omron and I love the updated version. It's still simple to use but better than the previous one- I like the screen. It isn't loaded with gadgetry which I prefer. The pads stick really well.Best of all, it does the job with pain. After a while, it acted up. Only one pad working. Yes I changed pads, checked wires, etcCalled customer service. Laughable.Told me all the things I had done.Send it to Illoinois for testing. No thanks. Sent to garbage
