Fantastic budget lens
I got this lens for my Sony a6400, which is a crop-sensor camera, making this lens equivalent to a 52.5mm focal length on a full frame. This is roughly the same as a classic 50mm lens, which makes it a good general purpose lens - not too wide, and not too zoomed in. The maximum aperture of f/1.7 means it is useful in low light situations, and is capable of creating a paper-thin depth of field. There is some noticeable softness at the edge of the frame, but as you stop down to a smaller aperture it is less noticeable. To my eyes there is also not a lot of vignetting or distortion that you need to worry about correcting either. The autofocus works well enough with my camera, and does not feel sluggish at all. The barrel rotates smoothly when using manual focus (even though manual focusing with the a6400 is another can of worms altogether). There is no built in image stabilisation with this lens, so unless your body has IBIS you get nothing; however the wider maximum aperture may make up for this by allowing faster shutter speeds. There is a USB-C port on the rear mount, which allows you to connect to a computer to update the firmware (although as of now there are no updates that I am aware of, and currently Adobe Lightroom does not recognise this lens in order to apply corrections automatically). Included with the lens are front and rear caps, a hood, and a drawstring bag. It has a 52mm filter thread, which seems like a fairly common size, and the body is composed of plastic except for the rear mounting ring. All in all I think this is a fantastic lens considering its extremely low price, equally useful for portraits or landscapes or whatever you need to shoot as you walk around, though the minimum focusing distance is about a foot so it won't be useful for macro shots. If you've ever used a film camera with a 50mm lens you will feel right at home.

Exceptional quality and value
Taken using Sony ZVE10M2 and Viltrox 35mm f1.7, with apsc the lens is approximately 52mm.I was blown away by these shots, the colour accuracy, the contrast and background seperation are all superb, minor flaring in direct direct sunlight, but less with an angle adjustment.Minimal focus distance is not super close, but when zoomed in, it detail and sharpness is so GOOD that you do not need to get any closer.I took many photos of my moving puppy and the autofocus and capturing technology in the lens took the perfect shots, showing no slurs or smudges in the pictures, caused by movement. My dog is mid yawn if that doesn't prove how good this lens is.The price of this lens is absurdly good value. I am excited to test this out in low light but with f1.7, it will handle that no doubt, producing more excellent pictures.Another negative is that sharpness fades out towards the corners, but this shouldn't matter when taking portraits and close ups which is what a 35/50mm is used for anyways.Weight of lens is super lightI extremely recommend this product, I will use as my main prime lens. Feels cheap but looks amazing
Incredibly sharp and great autofocus. The only negative I have is that the build quality feels cheap.
