Love the bag but be careful about airline restrictions!
I'm on a search for the perfect bag with a trolley sleeve that is large enough to pack a few things in for long trips, but that will also be small enough to count as a personal item and does NOT have a laptop compartment. Basically a weekender bag, but small enough to be a personal item. I took a two week trip to Europe with warm clothing, so I was maximizing my space as much as possible and thought I'd give this bag a try.Good stuff:- The bag seems very sturdy, it's nice canvas and the stitching and zipper all seem pretty secure. I definitely tested its seams with the amount of stuff I had in it. It has metal feet so the bottom is not sitting directly on the ground or floor.- It's got a lot of room inside, and just a few inner pockets which was fine for me.- The top opens wide completely, I dislike bags where the top does not open the full width of the bag.- Being soft-sided it has a lot of versatility in terms of the physical space it takes up. So you can stuff it in spots that might be a little tight.Minor complaints:- The shoulder strap, while very sturdy, is also very heavy so I left it at home.- I wish it had an additional pocket on the front.- This is not actually a complaint since I knew it when I purchased it, but if you're looking for something where the sides stand up on their own, this isn't it.But here's what you really want to know - what about airplanes?I had no issues with it fitting under the seat, although when it was very full I did have to stuff it under and to be fair it was mostly full of sweaters so it was more easy to squish. However, when it is full it is large enough that some of the smaller budget airlines (especially in Europe) might not consider it a personal item. On a multi-leg journey I flew with it from the US on Norwegian, and it was packed pretty full. When I checked in, the counter attendant eyed it and I was a little nervous. He weighed my roller bag and gave that a tag indicating it had passed the weight requirement and was cabin baggage, and without weighing this bag he gave me a cabin baggage tag for it as well. When I asked about it he said that it really was a little large for a personal item and there was a chance they'd ask me to gate check one of the bags if he didn't give them both cabin baggage tags. So basically he was nice and let me get by with it. The same happened on my flight home on Norwegian, they just kinda let it slide. However, my EasyJet flight within Europe did not allow it as a personal item so I had to pay $60 to gate-check my roller bag and this bag was considered my one carry-on, even though it technically fit in their under-seat sizer. It's really going to depend on the airline and how much they follow the letter of their regulations. I'm guessing with most US carriers it wouldn't be a problem but I think it's definitely on the edge of the personal item/carry-on distinction. The bottom line:I really like this bag and will definitely use it in general, especially if I'm not flying, but it's still not the perfect carry-on that I'm looking for.

Perfect for travel
LOVE this bag. Comes with a small cinch laundry bag that folds up nicely and a small extra bag that is PERFECT for the essentials. Got this for flying as it will hook right onto my carryon suitcase for easy travel within the airport and at my destination. The bag holds so much and will fit perfectly under the seat on the plane, and the small extra bag is perfect for the small flight essentials so I don’t have to be digging in the big bag for all the things I may need on my flight (headphones, medicine, hand sanitizer, gum, chapstick, etc!).

Perfect as Personal Item for flying
Took this on as a personal item on a SW Airline flight. It holds more than I needed. Holds a lot if using for weekend travel. Nice to have the 2 pockets inside along with the zippered pocket. Slipped on/off over the carryon suitcase handle easily. Has zippered pockets on both sides of the outside. Seems like it will hold up nicely. I would recommend.

Roomy inside
Thinner plastic than I thought it would be. Bottom is flimsy, no board or stiff cardboard in bottom of bag to keep it stiff for loading. For price, I expected a little more sturdiness but it is roomy inside with a zippered compartment which is nice. Hopefully lasts a few trips.
