AircastPneumatic Armband: Tennis/Golfers Elbow Support Strap, Black

I was recently diagnosed with tendonitis in my elbow and needed an elbow brace. I didn't like any that I found locally at our drug store, so I looked on Amazon and found this one. It is the same kind that was prescribed many years ago for my husband when he had the same condition. Back then we paid a lot for it! I am so thankful I found it and that it works great for pain relief! It is very comfortable. I don't even think about it being on! My doctor instructed me to wear it just below the elbow and atop the tendon to keep it from moving. It works great.

Mr Occupational Therapist recommended this item as part of my treatment for tennis elbow. This is the third brace I've purchase and this one, by far, is the most comfortable and effective. The first was a brace with a gel pad, and if it weren't too tight and hot, it would be fine. The second was an Ace Bandage with an adjustable tightness "knob". It's too hard, and the size of the pressure point is too narrow and the curve too sharp for a large arm. The Aircast version (this product) has an air pillow which applies gentle pressure that easily adjusts to the contraction and relaxation of the forearm muscles. It is Velcro adjustable, and the strap is foam padded and wearable for long periods. If that's not enough, it was the cheapest of the 3 braces I purchased!

It feels a bit flimsy, and the air bag is not inflatable. But it works!!!… unlike most other braces that are being sold for the same purpose on Amazon or in pharmacies.The point of a counterforce brace is to put pressure on the muscle/tendon a few inches below the elbow so that it relieves the tension on its connection to the bone. That needs a design so that tightening the strap will focus the pressure on a single point. This brace does that, as the strap is wide enough to tighten without strangulating your arm and the air bag delivers the pressure. (Products with a narrow strap and a large foam cushion are physically unable to exert the pressure on a specific point: they actually more pressure on the inflexible strap than on the compressible foam)

This is the best product. I purchased this same one about 15 years ago and still have it. I use it when I get inflammation in my elbow, usually referred to as golf or tennis elbow. I've worn it under my shirt sleeve and have slept with it. Very comfortable. Price is great. Definitely would recommend.

My doctor suspected I have tennis elbow and said to buy an AirCast from Amazon. I was looking forward to (possibly) some relief from my symptoms, but I honestly couldn't tolerate wearing this even for one minute. It is SOOO uncomfortable, itchy and weird and it felt like it made my arm burn. I thought maybe I put it on wrong because the instructions are literally 1) put brace on arm and 2) tighten, so I went online to watch a video about how to properly fit a brace. Nope, still awful. the material that touches your skin is a cheap itchy gray foam with a plastic piece that dug into my forearm. My forearm is still burning 5 minutes later while I write this review from that horrible thing. And unfortunately I CANNOT RETURN IT. I wasted $16 on this -- don't waste your money. Go to a local drugstore and pick up a brace.

I have tennis elbow, so my doctor recommended this for me. When I wear it it does lessen the pain. The band is well constructed and very durable. It is a soft spongy material so it is comfortable on my arm. It is also pretty long so it should fit a lot of size arms. It has Velcro on the end of the band which has not failed me yet. It’s a good product.

Very nice product

I would have given this product 5 stars because it really performs well and relieves the pain that I have in the injured tendon of my left arm. My orthopedic doctor recommended it when he told me that tendons take a long time to heal. I use this product on the job daily because my work as a print shop technician requires a lot of gripping/tearing open reams of paper, loading paper trays and carrying heavy stacks of printed documents. However, the little air pillow is sealed and not something that you can add more air to. So I was extremely disappointed at work yesterday when took it out of my car and began to put it on. I noticed that the air pillow was completely flat with no visible holes. Perhaps the seam around the edge leaked. This product has been used for just under 4 months. With a 4 month life span they should include a couple of extra air pillows. The packaging says it has a 6 month manufacturer warranty from the date of sale to repair or replace it. Not sure if it is worth the postage to send it back to the manufacturer's address in Vista, CA. I will have to order another one and look for alternatives to relieve the pain going forward.
